The horse’s owner, Bridger Medin said that he had a family on the carriage. There were families and children everywhere. The Pitbull attack happened on Saturday on the first day of carriage rides for the season, and the last ride of the day. Also, Bridger Medin said that the terrified family came to him after the incident. They told him to thank the horse and carriage driver. The family said that they saved their lives. Medin said that the video posted on YouTube as part of the sheriff’s investigation shows the end of the attack, and a horse trained to protect others, even under a vicious attack.

Bridger Medin said that the horse gave the fight of its life to always protect the people and the riders. Even, the horse named Queen Charlotte kicked the Pitbull. But the Pitbull continued to attack. Then, the carriage driver, Amanda Underwood, jumped in to help. If Amanda Underwood did not do that, we are sure that the horse would quit fighting and run for his life. It would have been a catastrophic. The Pitbull was eventually subdued. The horse, Queen Charlotte, who weighs 2,200 pounds, suffered bites on the legs, throat and stomach, and was bitten through her jaw. The Investigators said that the Pitbull was also severely wounded. A vet advised it may be best to euthanize the pet

The Pitbull that violently attacked a carriage horse and driver over Easter was adopted out by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. The incident was caught on video, and then posted to YouTube. The video shows a Pitbull attacking a carriage horse repeatedly at the Cane Creek Park when the children screamed in the background. The carriage driver suffered serious injuries, and would need to have surgery. The horse’s owner said that the Pitbull broke loose from its leash.

For your information, the Pibull was a five-year-old white neutered American Bulldog. The dog was adopted from CMPD Animal Care and Control in the year of 2019. At the time, CMPD Animal Care and Control noted that the Pitbull had a tendency to pull on the leash. But, the dog would slow down with gentle pressure. Also, CMPD Animal Care and Control said that the Pitbull was vaccinated and a health check did not indicate there was any behavior issues.
