Pitbull Rottweiler Mix Lifespan

The purebreds like Rottweiler usually have health issues and these issues appear because both parents have very identical genes, making the puppies have a high chance of getting dangerous genes. In fact, the health problems that are common among the purebred Rottweilers can be eliminated by combining them with another breed of dog. When only a parent has the genes to pass along these health issues, the puppy has a low chance of getting the health issues.

One of the most popular Rottweiler mixes is Pitweiler, which is also popular as Bullrott, Rottie pit, or Rottbull. As you can probably guess, this one is the combination between Rottweiler and Pitbull. As purebreds, Pitbulls have a large range of life expectancy. What is interesting is the fact that some of them even lived more than 20 years while some other ones live under 6 years. However, it is true that these numbers have a low chance to happen.

Pitbull Rottweiler Mix Lifespan

Then, what is the normal lifespan of Pitbull and Rottweiler mix? According to some sources, they normally live between 11 and 16 years. Combining Rottweiler with Pitbull is effective to increase the life expectancy of the puppy.

  • Mastiff Rottweiler mix or Mastweiler

Due to their size, Mastiffs have a shorter life expectancy. They have some health issues that are similar to what Rottweilers do. Compared to their Rottweiler parents, Mastiffs are larger. Their lifespan ranges between 6 to 10 years.   

  • German Shepherd Rottweiler mix or German Rottie

German Rottie is similar to the purebred Rottweilers. Their lifespan can range from 10 to 13 years. compared to the purebred Rottweilers, they tend to live a little longer.

  • Golden Retriever Rottweiler mix or Golden Rottie

Both parents of Golden Rottie, Golden Retriever and Rottweiler, share almost exactly the same potential health risks. It means their life expectancy is almost the same as well. The life expectancy of this one is 9 to 10 years.  

  • Labrador Retriever Rottweiler mix or Labrottle

Just like the German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers have some similar physical health problems to the purebred Rottweiler. Apparently, a Labrador Retriever can live up to 14 years old, which is older compared to the Rottweilers. It is stated that the range for this combo is usually 9 to 12 years.

  • Dachshund Rottweiler mix

The Dachshund Rottweiler has a longer lifespan compared to most other Rottweilers. On average, they can live for 14 to 17 years. The secret behind their long lifespan is because they are considered as very small dogs, meaning the chance of them getting the health issues of what the large dogs have is low.

  • Basset Hound Rottweiler mix or Rotthound

 It is possible for the Basset Hound to have similar health problems as the Rottweiler but in different ways. For instance, they might have elbow dysplasia, while the chance of getting this issue is low. The Rotthound can live for 10 to 12 years. compared to a purebred Rottweiler, their chance to live longer is higher.  

  • French Bulldog Rottweiler mix or French Rottweiler

Both Rottweilers and French Bulldogs do not have similar health issue potentials. Since they have their own health issues, they are great to breed because it has been known that the opposite breed can cover up the chance of each breed getting each other's health issues. The life expectancy of this combo ranges from 10 to 12 years.   

  • Poodle Rottweiler mix or Rootle

Poodles have a longer lifespan than the Rottweilers, ranging from 12 to 15 years. However, due to their breed, it is possible for them to develop hip dysplasia. Fortunately, it does not affect them negatively. The lifespan of the Rootle can be between 9 to 15 years.   

  • Husky Rottweiler mix or Rottrsky

Unlike Rottweilers that have big bodies, Huskies are smaller, that’s why they are included in the middle sized dog category. Thanks to their size, they are not risky to get the health issues that the Rottweilers have. The life expectancy of Huskies is similar to Poodles and Pugs. The life expectancy of the Husky Rottweiler mix can be anywhere between 12 and 15 years.   

  • Boxer Rottweiler mix or Boxweiler

When it comes to life expectancy, Boxers are similar to Pitbulls. They do not have long life expectancy but their life expectancy is still longer than the other dogs. Actually, their life expectancy is a bit hard to predict. The combo of Boxer and Rottweiler has the life expectancy between 8 to 13 years.

  • Great Dane Rottweiler mix or Weiler Dane

The Great Dane is considered a huge dog. They are popular for their huge size. While it is impressive, it is not good for their health. In worst cases, it can lead to an early death. The life expectancy of Weiler Dane is similar to the one that Rottweilers have, ranging between 7 to 10 years.   

  • Saint Bernard Rottweiler mix or Saint Weiler

The lifespan of Saint Bernard is similar to Rottweiler’s. Just like Rottweilers, their risk of getting some health issues is high, which is not good for their lives. It is the reason why mixing these two is a good idea, reducing the chance of getting health issues. As for the lifespan of a combo of these two, it can be anywhere from 12 to 13 years.     

  • Weimaraner Rottweiler mix or Weimarrott

Weimaraners have similar health problems to Rottweilers. Their health issues lead them to have a short life. The mix of these two also have the similar lifespan, which tends to be 10 and 11 years.

  • Beagle Rottweiler mix or Reagle

Beagle Rottweilers are counted as small dogs, meaning having a longer lifespan. This breed is one of the breeds that is usually used to make a miniature Rottweiler. On average, their lifespan is between 10 to 15 years.
