The Process of Adopting Dogs in Villalobos
As explained on the Adoption Process page of the Villalobos site, there are some points that you need to know about the process of adoption in Villalobos Rescue Center. Here are the points of the adoption process in this center according to its website.
- For hours and days, the adoption counselors of Villalobos Rescue Center interview adoption candidates. They also spend a countless amount of time trying to pair up the right dog for your family. So, for people who want to adopt a dog from Villalobos Rescue Center, they have to make sure that they are serious and currently interested in adopting. Villalobos Rescue Center also states that they do not process applications for the future.
- Fee is another important thing that must be known by people who want to adopt a dog. The fee for adopting a dog in Villalobos Rescue Center is $300.00. With this fee, your dog will be fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, neutered or spayed, heartworm free and receive a free ‘congratulations on your new dog’ training/ behavioural session via phone or zoom. It is important for you to remember that the adoption fee is non-refundable.
- If the team of Villalobos Rescue Center have received your application, and then they have approved it at the preliminary stage, one of the adoption counselors will make contact with you and they will ask for information about your yard, landlord (if applicable) and many more. In this stage, you must be patient because this process is able to take up to 2 weeks.
- In this step, it is time to fit you with the right dog. One of the other adoption counselors in VRC will spend a bit of time with you and even sometimes they will need some phone calls. Here, you are also asked to be patient because Villalobos team takes pride in their through adoption process and they want it to be forever.
On the site, it is also informed that they will not approve the application of adopting dogs if you have cats at home. It is because VRC does not have the means for testing their dogs. They also will not adopt to people who have kids under 5 years old. The reason is because they do not have the proper set up to temperament test the dogs for this scenario.
Not only that, VRC also do not adopt to people who have a home which are under HOA guidelines. But, if they are able to receive in writing that you are allowed to have the dog that you are interested in adopting from them, they can approve it.
This is just information about adopting dogs in VRC. However, once again it is not recommended for having dogs, moreover if you are a moslem.
